Protests were held in New York City on August 9, the anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing of Nagasaki and the day after Donald Trump declared, “North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen… he [Kim Jung-un] has been very threatening beyond a normal state. They will be met with fire, fury and frankly power the likes of which this world has never seen before.”
Following Trump’s threats Refuse Fascism organizers in New York City headed straight to the regime’s media mouthpiece the Fascist News Network (Fox News) to say, “NO Nuclear War! The Trump/Pence Regime Must Go!” and to let people know about November 4th — a day when people across the country will begin to take the streets refusing to leave until the demand: “This Nightmare Must End: Trump/Pence Must Go is” met. People held signs that said “No War on North Korea” and “Stop The Fire and Fury” and held skull masks to capture the reality a nuclear war would bring–the incineration of humanity. They were joined by Nick Mottern Founder and Coordinator of kNOwdrones.com and representatives from World Can’t Wait along with members of the Raging Grannies and the Green Party.
Protests were also held in Chicago, San Francisco, and Philadelphia.
