Chantelle Hershberger, Refuse Fascism LA
“Our movement is not ‘assemble, march, rally, go home.’ This is a call for mass sustained, non-violent protest… The fascist thug attack on Saturday shows this is not normal times. Yesterday, 30 Congresspeople barged into impeachment hearings acting like fascist mobs unleashing brownshirts on the ground level. They weren’t just attacking Refuse Fascism, but attacking and instilling fear among the millions who need to step out to prevent a fascist America. That’s why we need to come back this Saturday stronger. They are coming back harder, and we need to as well. Next Saturday and the Saturday after that… until this regime is removed.”
Atlas Winfrey, Refuse Fascism LA and the Revolution Club
“These fascists are using the language of civil war, ‘if you want a civil war, we’ll give you one… We don’t want a civil war, we want a world without a fascist America and we’re committed to doing that through sustained, non-violent mass protest.
“The fascist in the White House says he’s being lynched, but he’s the lynch-mob-leader-in chief… What people need to take away from this is that the normal processes can bring a fascist to power but it can’t bring him out of power, you need sustained massive determination from below, committed to non-violence, committed to getting out there and not stopping with our one demand – that’s something that could actually unseat this regime, that could get us to a much brighter future than what we’re facing now. We want to call on everybody: if you hate what’s going on, don’t just sit on twitter… join with others, come together in strength, overcoming fear and uncertainty saying Trump/Pence #OutNow!”
Bo Login, Iraq war veteran who’s spoken out against American crimes, Refuse Fascism LA
“The courage people showed at the peaceful #OutNow protest last Saturday that was attacked by fascists, is an example of what’s needed: putting aside personal interests to look out for the safety of others. Standing up for those children being torn apart from their families at the border… standing up for the women who aren’t going to be allowed to control their own bodies because of the abortion bans, standing up against the environmental destruction that’s being accelerated because of the Trump/Pence regime. What you saw Saturday was people putting aside their fear and uncertainties to do what’s necessary. This world can’t survive a fascist America. Come out this Saturday and the next Saturday and the next…”
