On January 26 in a Cleveland courtroom, Joey Johnson & the RNC16, who dared to defy Donald Trump by burning a flag outside the Republican National Convention, will go before a judge in an important hearing which will deliver a ruling on their motion to have all misdemeanor charges dismissed. What happens in court that day does not just depend on the lawyers and the judge—it also depends on you! It will be a crucial test of whether people are willing to show solidarity with those who are defying Trump’s vicious agenda, and being targeted by the state. We ask you to pledge to join us in packing the courtroom. We feel a “pledge” is necessary because we know that it is all too easy to fall back into your daily life and avoid the inconvenience -and fear- of showing up. If you agree that standing together to defy Trump is worth the inconvenience, please…
SIGN THIS PLEDGE BY JOINING THIS EVENT!

History shows that if people wait until they are targeted by a violent and oppressive regime, too few people will ever be standing up at the same time. A famous quote, attributed to the German Lutheran Pastor Martin Neimoller, describes the terrible consequences of failing to stand up:
They came first for the Communists,
But I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then They came for the trade unionists,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time no one was left to speak up.
