Edward “Noche” Diaz and 3 other members of the NYC Revolution Club were arrested on Saturday at the solidarity rally at the Stonewall Inn in opposition to Trump’s Muslim travel ban and in defense of LGBTQ rights. These young revolutionaries were part of the Refuse Fascism contingent at this rally, bringing to it the message that these injustices are part of the fascist program the Trump/Pence regime is enforcing and underscore why this regime must be ousted. Police confronted and arrested them at the end of the rally.
These arrests happened in a way that gave the appearance that Noche and the others were being targeted by the NYPD. They were held over night and released facing charges that included obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrests and disorderly conduct.
These arrests are outrageous. People have the right to protest the actions of the Trump/Pence regime as fascist and to demonstrate solidarity with vulnerable groups of people. Everyone who is concerned about justice should have the backs of these people.
