(A recording of a statement by a woman arrested by the Berkeley police while carrying a panel of indictments of the crimes of the Trump/Pence regime’s crimes against humanity, began a few seconds after she began)
“… Saying that I’ve been arrested carrying a banned weapon. That’s the law. Unless cardboard signs like this (points out a poster) but a little bit bigger …
“No sticks, no sticks. No poles. If that is a weapon, then … if this is dangerous, it’s dangerous because of the text. And yet, I was arrested, held overnight in city and then county. And then, they got to me. You can imagine what I’m getting in my inbox right now. I’m being stalked and doxxed and harassed. My family members are being sought out.
“This is something the Berkeley P.D. did, I believe, on purpose, because they added the hashtag ‘been at Berkeley’. That is the hashtag the altright decided to use for this event. They knew what they were doing when they put that hashtag on the … tweet of my arrest with false charges.
“The second reason I’m here … I am not a communist. I am so not a communist. I’m not a member of the RCP. I’m a socially progressive, fiscally moderate, basic liberal. But I am with this organization because I’ve learned from the mistakes of history. If we don’t stand together against fascism, and, I’m sorry, but this regime meets the encyclopedia definition of fascism, look it up. Look up your Eco, look up your Paxton, look up Hoffer, look up any of these guys, and you’ll see that it fits.
“And I know that different people have to come together. We want everyone in this movement. We want conservatives, we want libertarians, we want anybody who doesn’t accept fascism. That should be almost everyone. And so that’s why I stand here with people I think we disagree with in many ways. But they are having my back, I will have their back. If we do that for each other, then, the worst will not come.
“Thank you”.
