Jury Verdict Expected Today
In a trial now taking place in Los Angeles Superior Court, two defendants who took part in two protests on the Hollywood Freeway during rush hour traffic in the Fall of 2017 are on trial facing 3 years in jail and $2,000 in fines.
In the first action, they were holding signs reading “Nov 4th It Begins” and in the second protest, they held a 50 foot “Trump Pence Regime Must Go” banner across the five lanes of traffic. These protesters stepped onto the freeway to sound the alarm about the emerging Trump Pence fascist regime, the Muslim Ban, Trump’s threat to rain fire and fury against North Korea, 25 million people, including with nuclear weapons, and in the wake of the murder of Heather Heyer at the Charlottesville VA Nazi march, declared by Trump to include “many fine people.”
These actions were a call and challenge for thousands to bring forward millions into the streets in sustained non-violent political protest to drive the regime from power.
Their protest and call were prescient.
