August 7, 2019, Idalia from the Refuse Fascism Chicago Chapter gave this speech at a vigil for the people murdered in El Paso that was held in response to the call by RAICES for nationwide actions opposing white supremacy, #ElPasoFirme and #ElPasoStrong.

The vigil was originally called by two young women who had never organized a political action before and endorsed by eleven groups, including Refuse Fascism Chicago. About 150 people attended, overwhelmingly Latinxs from the mainly Mexican-American community where it was held.
