Two days before electors vote to make Biden’s win official, Trump’s mindless followers will rally in DC behind the fiction of a stolen election. At Black Lives Matter Plaza, away from their rally and in front of the White House, we will declare:
STOP Trying to Overturn the Election!
STOP Your Murderous COVID Program!
STOP Your Dangerous War Moves!
STOP Whipping Up MAGA Fascist Mobs!
Trump/Pence OUT NOW!
Trump’s refusal to concede the election he lost by more than 6 million votes is fascist. The courts repeatedly reject his challenges to the election results, pointing to a lack of any evidence at all. But Trump’s continued cries of “fraud” are believed by an unquestioning, violent base. And every day he remains in power, he is damaging lives and the future.
Trump and his regime fan the COVID pandemic, including now with his theocratic Supreme Court justices ruling to let the virus kill more people in the name of so-called “religious freedom.” They make war moves against Iran and open the Arctic to more drilling. They whip up their unthinking, science-denying, white supremacist, women-hating, violent base; hardening this force on the rallying cry that this election was “stolen from Trump” to carry out further destruction to democratic processes and rights.
We will not cede the public square to fascist lies and fascist mobs. We will not allow the regime to gain strength to carry further the nightmare of the last four years.
We will come into the public square nonviolently to make clear: they lost, they have to go, they cannot decide the future.
Saturday December 12, stand for Black lives, brown lives, immigrants, women and LGBTQ people, the future of our earth and the people of the world. Gather at Black Lives Matter Plaza at noon. Wear a mask. Socially distance. But show up. In the name of humanity, we refuse to accept a fascist America.
