“Fascism has direction and momentum. Dissent is piece by piece criminalized. The truth is bludgeoned. Group after group is demonized and targeted along a trajectory that leads to real horrors. All of this has already begun under the Trump regime. History has shown that fascism must be stopped before it becomes too late.” (From the Call to Refuse Fascism)
We are seeing this process of fascism unfolding before our eyes. How do we crack this truth open for the hundreds of people each of us can influence so they in turn influence hundreds and then thousands? Reading, signing, discussing with friends, and spreading the new Call to Action is key to helping people understand the nature of this regime, the direction driving the multitude of attacks it launches, and the need to make driving it from power our single unifying mission.
Don’t Normalize…Don’t Accommodate…Don’t Conciliate…Don’t Collaborate.
Another vital tool is spreading the power of NO! far and wide, at protests like last Saturday against the attack on transgender rights and in neighborhoods like Devon and Pilsen – and wherever you are! To make that possible, we are looking for space in communities around Chicago where posters, flyers, stickers and buttons can be readily available to everyone and where communities of resistance can be forged. If YOU know of space – in a storefront, community center, congregation, not-for-profit – please let us know! In the meanwhile, just drop us a line and we’ll be happy to get posters and more to you, to post and distribute wherever you go. What difference can this make? Read the inspiring story of Jenny Heinz, “An Example to Follow.“
We invite all of you reading this to spread this slogan and this movement, to join in the activities listed below as you can, and to send your photos of resistance to us at [email protected] and news of upcoming protests to us at [email protected].
