Rally at National Museum of African American History and Culture, Washington DC

On March 27 2025, Trump gave an executive order to erase African American history by formally attacking the Museum of African American History and Culture, which is dedicated to telling the full story of the Black American experience.

Reverend William H. Lamar, Pastor of the Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church, spoke at the Refuse Fascism rally to say “Eraising Black History? We Say No! Now’s the Time for Trump to Go!”

In December 2020, the Proud Boys desecrated and vandalized Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church in a rampage through DC – carrying out Trump’s rolling coup after he lost the election to Biden. The Proud Boys entered the church’s property and destroyed their Black Lives Matter sign. In the face of this, Metropolitian AME did not back down in standing up for justice and against hate.

Watch Reverend Lamar’s whole speech at the July 3rd rally.

IN THE NAME OF HUMANITY, WE REFUSE TO ACCEPT A FASCIST AMERICA!

NOW IS the TIME WHEN WE MUST RISE UP and ACT to STOP the CONSOLIDATION of TRUMP MAGA FASCISM. For the lives of people here and around the world we must refuse unlawful and inhumane orders… we must fill the streets and town squares in non-violent protest—not stopping until we become millions — not relenting until this regime is no longer able to implement its program or maintain its hold on power.
