In his August 11 press conference to announce his takeover of DC, Trump said he was going to “liberate” the capital from “caravans of mass youth.” He said, “We’re going to get rid of the slums.” He said people will only fight back until “you knock the hell out of them.” This is a call to violence against Black youth, and a plan to eliminate poor people.
He also said it was a “tragic emergency” that DC has been overtaken by violent gangs and bloodthirsty criminals.
Let us be very clear:
The most violent gang and bloodthirsty criminal in DC is the Trump Fascist Regime.
The real tragic emergency is that there’s a genocidal fascist lunatic in the White House, amassing more dictatorial power by the day. This has direction and momentum.
This is a serious escalation of Trump’s fascist control of the capital, and thus the country. His threats against the homeless and the youth is a message to all those this regime sees as expendable. Optics are important to fascism. Hitler’s first 100 days were full of “cosmetic” changes aimed at removing all “undesirables” – laying groundwork for the genocidal horrors to come.
We must bring forward the force of the people – the only force that can stop Trump fascism through mass nonviolent resistance and protest and mass noncompliance that shuts down the ability of this regime to carry out its fascist program or even hold onto power.
