June 23, Colorado Springs Colorado – about 100 people protested an appearance by Mike Pence at an anniversary celebration of “Focus on the Family”, a vicious anti-woman, anti-LGBTQ organization of Christian Fascists. About a dozen of the protesters dressed in the red outfits of the Handmaid’s Tale.
One woman carried a sign reading ““The Handmaid’s Tale is not an instruction manual. It’s a warning.” She told a local tv station that Focus on the Family “believes being gay is a sin and that it’s possible to convert people from being gay to straight — it’s ridiculous. So many people say we don’t want sharia law in this country. People are pushing it. It’s just not Islamic law. It’s Christian law.”
Trump and Pence are being met with protest everywhere they go – this is very positive, and it must become much more powerful.
