[Jerry] Jones finds himself at the center of this drama as well, which happens when you dictate to your players they will stand for the anthem or they will sit for the game…

As the Cowboys owner walked through the lobby, surrounded by family and security, two protesters began to voice their issues with Jones, charging that he treats his players like $40 million slaves.

That echoed the comments of Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price, who said last week that Jones issued an order that says, “Slaves, obey your master.” On Monday of this week, Frederick D. Haynes III, the senior pastor of Friendship-West Baptist Church, held a news conference outside of the Dallas police headquarters to accuse Jones of “plantation politics.”

Jones had already left for New York when Haynes made his comments. He came face to face with those who hold a similar opinion Tuesday.

“Gladiators who are well paid to beat each other’s brains outs, but have to keep their mouths shut for talking about injustice,” one of the protesters said. “Look at the videos of the police getting away with murder, and tell me the players are wrong to protest it and that they have no right to do that.

“People need to take a knee against white supremacy and people need to stand up against you and your buddy Donald Trump and drive this whole regime out and it begins Nov. 4.”
