Statement by Carl Dix, Co-Initiator RefuseFascism.org:

BOSTON, MASS • “It is outrageous that fascist idiots, thugs and liars, under the rubric of “Resist Marxism” are coming back into the streets of Boston this weekend. They call themselves free speech advocates but the poison they spread is the vilest white supremacy, homophobia, male supremacy, xenophobia, and anti Jewish hatred. They would be pathetic if it were not for the reality that Donald Trump and Mike Pence head a whole cabal in power that is rapidly consolidating a fascism in this country. These goons rallying in Boston are shock troops being unleashed to intimidate and silence those who oppose the program of the Trump/Pence Regime. They must be opposed, and this is why I’m coming to Boston to stand with Refuse Fascism and others protesting these fascists.”

“The country and the world face a grave danger. Trump and Pence have demonized immigrants and Muslims, called for police to be more brutal to the people they arrest and taken newly won rights away from LBGTQ people. Trump has bragged about sexually assaulting women and threatened to destroy North Korea with “fire and fury the likes of which the world has never seen.” He has called the media enemies of the people and threatened those who criticize him.”

“It is urgent that those who agonize over every move this regime makes and outraged by the thugs they unleash, recognizes the danger to justice, to humanity, to the planet, and acts now to STOP it!”

“That’s why Refuse Fascism is working on the only way to stop this: by building towards the time, which must come soon, when hundreds of thousands and eventually millions of people take to the streets all around the country everyday – not stopping until our demand: This Nightmare Must End, The Trump/Pence Regime Must Go!“

“Saturday, November 18, Refuse Fascism has called for another big step towards the realization of this demand with nationwide protests to: “Break the Silence-Bring the Noise” – to end the accommodation to and normalization of a regime that is not normal. To rouse the people to demand its ouster. Only the determined, non-violent struggle of masses of people can stop this. You can’t wait for the next election to deal with this regime. History has shown that it can become too late to stop fascism.”

“Join me and Refuse Fascism at an 11AM at Copley Plaza. We will rally and march to the Boston Commons to join with may others protesting against these fascist goons raising their vile hatred.”

In 1970, he was one of the Fort Lewis 6, 6 GI’s who refuse to go to Vietnam in what was the largest mass refusal of such orders by US GI’s.
