Yesterday Donald Trump signed executive orders that intensify attacks on immigrants, within the country and along the border, to unprecedented, fascist levels. Those orders suspend visas for anyone from seven countries with predominantly Muslim populations, and deny admission to all Syrian refugees. But Trump’s order lays the basis to favor one group of people – Christians who claim religious persecution in majority Muslim countries. Trump and the Christian theocrats in his cabinet of ghouls are out to forcefully impose an explicitly Christian identity on this country, and embed that in US policy. The Trump regime is promising renewed and unfettered aggression against people in Islamic countries while favoring a handful of Christians to be “saved”. This is the fascism of “America First”.
