16-year-old Deja Foxx Calls Out Senator Jeff Flake on Attacks on Planned Parenthood

April 13. 16-year-old Deja Foxx, a young woman from Tucson called out Arizona Republican senator Jeff Flake during a town hall on Thursday, over his support for a law that will give states the right to deny Title X funds to family-planning centers that also provide abortions, like Planned Parenthood.

She said: “Jeff Flake, my name is Deja Foxx and I’m a 16-year-old from Tucson. I just want to state some facts. So, I’m a young woman, and you’re a middle-aged man. I’m a person of color, and you’re white. I come from a background of poverty, and I didn’t always have parents to guide me through life. You come from privilege… So, I’m wondering, as a Planned Parenthood patient and someone who relies on Title X, who you are clearly not, why it’s your right to take away my right to choose Planned Parenthood and to choose no-co-pay birth control, to access that,”

The audience erupted in applause.

IN THE NAME OF HUMANITY, WE REFUSE TO ACCEPT A FASCIST AMERICA!

NOW IS the TIME WHEN WE MUST RISE UP and ACT to STOP the CONSOLIDATION of TRUMP MAGA FASCISM. For the lives of people here and around the world we must refuse unlawful and inhumane orders… we must fill the streets and town squares in non-violent protest—not stopping until we become millions — not relenting until this regime is no longer able to implement its program or maintain its hold on power.
