RefuseFascism.org’s Sunsara Taylor to Denounce Trump’s Threat Against Rosie O’Donnell and to Demand Trump’s Removal from Power
LOS ANGELES, CA – At 2PM today, Sunsara Taylor of RefuseFascism.org will speak at Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to denounce his outrageous threat to strip U.S. comedian Rosie O’Donnell of her citizenship and to call for a massive nonviolent popular uprising to demand Trump’s removal from power.
In a social media post which Rosie O’Donnell shared on her own instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/p/DMCBwPexRHH/)*, Sunsara Taylor noted that Rosie was born in New York to U.S. citizen parents and warned that, “If Trump can do this to Rosie, he can do it to anyone… This is fascism.”
RefuseFascism.org notes that Trump has insulted Rosie’s appearance and demeaned her for years as part of targeting critics and demeaning all women. Now, his threat against her is a threat to all who he sees as “enemies.”
“Trump’s ‘enemies list’ is long and well documented,” Taylor continued. “It includes immigrants, Black people, women, LGBTQ+ folks, elected officials, journalists, students, and everyday protesters. Trump is already rounding people up, disappearing migrants into torture prisons from South Sudan to El Salvador, dismantling DEI programs, criminalizing protest, banning books, and attempting to terrorize opponents into silence. This is fascism!”
RefuseFascism.org says now is the time to act. Taylor: “Every member of SAG-AFTRA, every Hollywood figure, every decent person in this country should be speaking out right now. We must not only defend Rosie O’Donnell—we must demand an end to Trump’s fascist regime. The millions who have protested must quickly become a massive nonviolent popular uprising that does not stop until Trump is removed. Shut Down ICE! No Military Occupation! Trump Must Go NOW.”
