After Trump’s election in 2016, Sam Goldman knew America was on a dangerous path that could lead to fascism.

Disgusted by the complacency, apathy, and complicity of corporate media and institutions, Sam began “Refuse Fascism” in 2020 as a podcast to gather concerned citizens, commentators, activists, and scholars who were sounding the alarm and trying to mobilize the masses. Now, in 2025, Refuse Fascism has become the hub of a non-violent resistance movement committed to getting bodies out on the streets until Trump is removed from power.

On the heels of the successful NO KINGS rally, Refuse Fascism is launching a rally on November 5 in Washington, DC. They are still assembling their final list of speakers, but remain committed to holding live events until the numbers can reach the critical mass of 3.5% of the population that, historically, is the tipping point for regime change.

In our conversation, Sam talks about the November 5th call to action against Trump’s fascist regime, cites numerous examples of how Trump and MAGA are threatening violence against critics, and discusses the dire consequences for our country if the majority doesn’t wake up and do their part to protect our freedom.
