On January 30, 2026, a nationwide strike and protests were held across the U.S. to protest Trump’s ICE Gestapo – which surged into Minneapolis on a wave of Trump’s genocidal rhetoric against Somali immigrants and has murdered two civilians in cold blood. This national strike came one week after the people of Minnesota staged a state-wide strike, filling the streets in freezing temperatures and inspiring others across the country to get in the streets. Tens of thousands, by some estimates over 100,000 across the country, protested on January 30 (and continued into the weekend). Tom Morello held a concert in Minneapolis, with a featured performance by Bruce Springsteen of his protest song “Streets of Minneapolis”, and then led people to the march that was taking off a block away. This nonviolent resistance must continue and grow.
Earlier in the week, the outrage against the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti compelled the regime to do some shuffling around and pretend to “dial down the temperature.” This didn’t last long. They escalated – arresting two black journalists, Don Lemon and Georgia Fort, for covering a disruption at a church, and doubling down on demonizing Alex Pretti as an “insurrectionist.”
A fascist regime cannot retreat – it must accelerate. As long as the Trump regime remains in power, they will steamroll ahead with a vengeance for total domination over the people of this country and the world.
More and more, the people in the streets refusing to accept a fascist America has to set the terms throughout society – and go all the way to the removal of the Trump fascist regime. The demand TRUMP MUST GO NOW has to be a growing force in these protests – with people seriously setting their sights toward their sustained mass protests leading to Trump and his regime being removed from power.
