Cleveland: Protesting the Deportation of Jesus Lara Lopez

July 18 15 of us from Refuse Fascism and Indivisible Cleveland came to the Cleveland Hopkins International airport at 5am to protest the heart-wrenching deportation of Jesus Lara Lopez, as he was taken by plane to Mexico leaving his wife and 4 children devastated. He worked in the fields and a factory in Willard Ohio for 17 years.  He has no criminal record. He was discovered by the authorities as undocumented after a traffic stop in 2008 and he cooperated with immigration for years.   Inside the airport we held signs, passed out the Refuse Fascism Call to Action and repeatedly said, “No Hate, No Fear, Immigrants are welcome here!”  We were well received by many many travelers. One ticket agent even ran from behind the counter to get a flyer.

IN THE NAME OF HUMANITY, WE REFUSE TO ACCEPT A FASCIST AMERICA!

NOW IS the TIME WHEN WE MUST RISE UP and ACT to STOP the CONSOLIDATION of TRUMP MAGA FASCISM. For the lives of people here and around the world we must refuse unlawful and inhumane orders… we must fill the streets and town squares in non-violent protest—not stopping until we become millions — not relenting until this regime is no longer able to implement its program or maintain its hold on power.
