The fascism unfolding under Trump is relentless and many-sided, facing its weekly chronicler with the challenging task of picking out the leading examples from the last six days. Here are my nominations for the week between last weekend and Friday, September 11, 2026, 5 pm central time.
Trump Congratulates the Neofascsist AfD
U.S. President Donald Trump publicly congratulated Germany’s neofascist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party after its terrifying victory in Saxony-Anhalt’s state election. The racial nationalist, anti-tolerance AfD calls for sealed borders and advocates the fascist “remigration” of non-ethnic and especially non-white Germans. The AfD’s triumph marks the first time a far right party has won an election in German since the collapse of the Third Reich at the end of the World War II.
Trump called it a “really big night” for “the populists” and attributed the fascist victory to German voters’ frustration with “horrible immigration rules.” He ended a Truth Social post by chillingly writing “MGGA!!!” — a play on his “Make America Great Again.”
That’s right: Make Germany Great Again.
The Republifascalooza in Dallas
Consistent with this praise of the neofascist AfD, the bizarre midterm Republican convention being held in Dallas, Texas this week, aptly dubbed “Trumpalooza,” featured one Republican leader after another channeling fascism’s obsession with the supposed evil menace of Marxism, socialism, and communism. The speakers described the capitalist-imperialist Democratic Party and its 2026 Congressional candidates as Marxist, socialist, and communist threats to American “democracy’ and “freedom.” As The New York Times reported:
“the president and his Republican allies spent more time whipping up fears about the specter of socialism, communism and even anarchy than they did trumpeting the successes of his administration…speaker after speaker focused on what they characterized as an urgent threat to American life: a Democratic Party they claimed had veered into a dangerous, un-American ideology. Democrats running for Congress were ‘evil.’ They were ‘communists and anarchists.’ And they wanted to turn the country into ‘a socialist hellscape.’”
“I call it the Bolshevik Revolution in the Democratic Party,” said leading Republifascsist Steve Scalise, the House majority leader. “Let’s make sure that when we wake up the morning after Election Day we know we did everything we could to defeat socialism.”
A video shown at the convention claimed that “God made Trump” or a “special purpose…to fix this country, work all day, fight the Marxist…”
During his oration in Dallas, Vice President JD Vance spoke in a virulent racist and xenophobic fashion about “old Abdul,” his way of referring to Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed, Vance praised Trump for removing “foreign born people” from the Amerikaner Fatherland, among other fascistic accomplishments.
Shouts of “he should be shot” could be heard during Republifascsist Senator Ted Cruz’s (Rf-TX) convention speech criticizing by name the prominent Democrats El-Sayed, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, and Texas Senate candidate James Talarico. After Cruz mentioned each politician, someone hollered “he should be shot!” There was no effort to identify and remove the shouter.
In his final Dallas speech, which ran more than two hours, Trump absurdly promised that every voter would get $5000 from the federal government if the Republifascists win the midterms.
Trump’s Gestapo Beating Citizens in Suburban Maryland
It was reported this week that ICE, Trump’s Gestapo, took over a suburban neighborhood in Frederick, Maryland, last Friday, staking out a house for more than 40 hours and making many local residents afraid to leave their homes. When nonviolent local citizens and elected officials sat and stood with arms linked in defense of the home, ICE agents brutally beat the humanity defenders with clubs and fists, throwing some to the ground. Trump’s gendarmes rolled their SUV’s onto a crowded sidewalk, nearly mowing down Frederick’s city council vice president Katie Nash and threatening to run over neighbors. After Nash called Frederick police and asked them to come protect the observers, the masked ICE thugs began bashing protesters with batons and then illegally entered the home they had been surveilling.
The Frederick police arrived and made no effort to defend the neighborhood’s nonviolent residents. Agents illegally entered the home without a warrant, found nobody to arrest, and departed. Two of the humanity protecters were hospitalized with injuries. Here is a local media report of this incident broadcast three days ago.
Fascist Force Feeding
The Guardian reported last Saturday that Trump’s Gestapo recently got permission from a fascist federal judge to force-feed a detained Cuban hunger striker inside a Texas detention center, “with the use of a rare, nonconsensual surgical procedure. The man is likely the 19th hunger striker in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention…since January 2025.” Major medical organizations and human rights groups consider the force-feeding of hunger strikers to be cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment that amounts to torture.
Christian Fascist Curriculum in Texas
Two days ago, Middle East Eye reported that the Christian Fascist Texas State Board of Education has set in place a new “social studies curriculum” that will instruct high school students that Islam is a “radical” and “brutal” religion. “The new curriculum will affect some five million students. Starting in 2030, the focus will shift to making Bible passages required reading, highlighting Christianity’s positive attributes, and referring to early Islam’s military campaigns as ‘brutal’ despite not using the same term to describe wars waged by Christians. Teaching early Islam will be specifically framed through a lens of slavery and female captivity.”
Exploiting the Lindsay Casey Trial to Attack Women’s Rights
As Jessica Valenti reported three days ago, “Christian” Republifascists Fascists are using the Lindsay Casey trial, involving the tragedy of a triple child murder driven by a woman’s post-partum psychosis, to ramp up their campaign against gender equality even to ramp up their campaign to end women’s voting rights. As Valenti writes:
“What started as ‘reasoned’ op-eds and online forums advising men to treat Clancy’s case as a relationship test for their girlfriends and wives has further curdled into viral videos of men vowing they’ll never vote for a woman again, calls to institutionalize any woman who supports Clancy, and thousands of comments on social media posts and articles simply stating a desire to repeal the 19th[Amendment].” As in: end women’s right to vote.”
On the right, Valenti notes, “empathy for one sick mother has [sickeningly] become a referendum on whether women deserve any rights at all.”
Vance Calls for the Redistribution of Money from Working Mothers to Trad Families
Also to file under fascist misogyny, JD Vance, the Christian Fascist who is one deranged octogenarian’s heartbeat from the White House announced last week that he is championing a program that will take federal money from working mothers (federal childcare subsidies) and redistribute it to “traditional” white families where the wife stays home to raise the offspring. Herr Vance is advancing what one Refuse Fascism comrade rightly calls “a Lebensborn program for the master race.”
“I Believe in Blood”
Speaking of fascist eugenics, Mein Trumpf this week praised National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation Chair Charlotte Jones by saying “She’s got great genetics. I have to tell you: great genetics, got great blood. I’m a big blood person. I believe in blood.” Ms. Jones is the daughter of the Dallas Cowboys billionaire owner Jerry Jones. During the 2024 presidential campaign Trump claimed that nonwhite immigrants were “poisoning our blood,” language straight of Hitler.
Manifest Destiny Redux
Last Monday Trump posted an image showing all of North America (including Canada and Mexico) plus Cuba as part of the United States.
In a bid to mimic Hitler’s Austian Anschluss and takeover of Czechoslovakia, Donald “Manifest Destiny” Trump is now openly threatening to territorially expand the Fatherland by annexing Mexico, Canada, Greenland, Cuba, and several other Caribbean countries. It is no meaningless threat given that his regime is at war with Iran, has turned the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific into extrajudicial killing zones, has militarily seized the sovereign head of Venezuela and is now appropriating Venezuelan oil.
SS Space Force Threads
As if daring the mainstream media to point out that he is a Nazi, Trump last weekend proudly shared on his Truth Social platform “an A.I.-generated mock-up of Space Force uniforms that looked suspiciously close to uniforms worn by Adolf Hitler’s SS” (Salon)
