Doesn’t This Freeze Your Blood?

With this trial as a precedent, what will future trials look like? People against whom Trump nurses a grudge will most likely be found guilty of what ever he chooses to charge against them…Come out on the streets with Refuse Fascism in huge numbers and protest while you still can…

I spent Thursday January 30th, with the members of Refuse Fascism at their D.C. rally and march against Trump’s acquittal. The event was beautifully organized, and all of the people that joined it were passionately involved. Unfortunately, those people weren’t numerous enough to effectively oust the Trump/Pence regime.

Why won’t people recognize that this trial is a sure sign of fascism? Not, of course that there haven’t been other signs. But, good god, a trial in which the Republicans have decided beforehand to find Trump innocent and have refused to allow witnesses and documented evidence is a fake trial (to use one of Trump’s favorite terms of dismissal). If Trump Is exonerated from the charge of abuse of power, then he can do anything he likes, he will be above the law. And,  Notice how he has been stacking the courts with right-wing judges? Remember his threat that the Democrats who have pressed for the impeachment trial “will find their heads on pikes?

Doesn’t this picture of the near future freeze your blood? It should. This isn’t a bad dream; this is really happening. Come out on the streets with Refuse Fascism in huge numbers and protest while you still can. Don’t refuse because you need to attend to your job, or to your education, or to your family. Under Trump, these things will be horribly changed. You owe it to yourself and to humanity to drive Trump, Pence, and all the other fascists out of office.

IN THE NAME OF HUMANITY, WE REFUSE TO ACCEPT A FASCIST AMERICA!

NOW IS the TIME WHEN WE MUST RISE UP and ACT to STOP the CONSOLIDATION of TRUMP MAGA FASCISM. For the lives of people here and around the world we must refuse unlawful and inhumane orders… we must fill the streets and town squares in non-violent protest—not stopping until we become millions — not relenting until this regime is no longer able to implement its program or maintain its hold on power.
