Monday, July 28: Blow the Whistle on ICE RefuseFascism.org Launches Noncompliant Actions to Shut Down ICE, Shut Down the Whole Trump Fascist Regime
What: Noise Demonstrationa – Photo Op
When: Monday July 28
Where: 12:00 pm Federal Building; 6:00 pm City Hall Park; all national locations
As ICE terror intensifies, National Guard troops are deployed in the streets, and Trump escalates his attacks on the rule of law, due process, and the right to dissent, Refuse Fascism is launching No Business As Usual – a nationwide campaign of growing, continuous, mass noncompliance and nonviolent resistance to stop the consolidation of fascism.
Organizers say, “We are blowing the whistle on ICE at the building (26 Federal Plaza) that is the epicenter of ICE kidnappings in New York City. The 10th floor is where immigrants are being detained for days and even weeks in filthy, overcrowded rooms with no beds, no showers, and no access to food, medical care, or legal representation. People are forced to sleep on the floor or metal benches with only a foil blanket. ICE insists this is a ‘processing center’ not subject to Congressional oversight, but it is in fact a holding cell for immigrants who have been kidnapped from immigration court hearings. This is happening under our watch. The scapegoating and disappearing of immigrants is the battering ram of Trump/MAGA fascism and it is the people who must stop it.”
From New York to San Francisco, Chicago to Houston, people will blow the whistle on ICE, take to the streets with disruptive noise, and initiate forms of mass nonviolent defiance that continue week after week.
“This is not protest-as-usual. It’s preparation for the moment that must come soon — when millions rise up together, nonviolently but with determination, to grind the machinery of the Trump regime to a halt and refuse to stop until it is removed from power,” said Coco Das, a National Leader of Refuse Fascism. “This means building the networks, the organization, and the culture of defiance now.”
July 28 is just the beginning. Refuse Fascism is urging people from all walks of life — students, artists, faith leaders, healthcare workers, immigrants, union members — to become part of building a movement that refuses to comply with fascism and fights to bring millions into sustained nonviolent resistance.
