NYC Vigil at Trump Tower
In Memory of Rob Reiner
Refuse the cruelty of Trump fascism.
Demand that Trump must go now.
(Trump Tower, NYC) Organized by Refuse Fascism NYC – activists, actors, artists, and citizens of conscience will rally for a candlelight vigil at Trump Tower in Manhattan. This event is to both mourn the death of Mr. Reiner and his wife Michele and to stand up to the hate shown by President Trump in his public comments in the hours following their deaths.
When: Thursday, December 18th, 7pm
What: A candlelight vigil with speakers discussing the impact of Mr. Reiner’s life in both the worlds of entertainment and activism.
Where: Across the street from Trump Tower, 725 5th Avenue, Manhattan, NY

Quotes: “Our hearts go out to all of Mr. and Mrs. Reiner’s friends and family members. They are mourning a tragedy on multiple levels and they deserve the deepest love andcompassion,” said Jim Keady, a national organizer with Refuse Fascism. “Along with our love and support, we believe the Reiners also deserve the good citizens of the United States to stand up to the bloviating bully we have in the White House – a man so callous and vile that he weaponized the tragic deaths of Rob and Michele in an attempt to score cheap political points and to threaten others who followed in Mr. Reiner’s footsteps in speaking truth to power. Mr. Reiner warned the American people of the fascist threat Trump posed back in 2018 in an interview he gave to Salon,” said Keady.
“We’re seeing a very slow erosion of democracy and the creeping rise of autocracy and fascism. It’s very scary right now. It’s not about arguing policies anymore, it’s about arguing about truth and lies.”

“Trump’s vile words concentrate the ethos and program of MAGA fascism. There is noliving with this. The glee in misery, the total lack of empathy, and the call for vicious,bloodthirsty retribution are not incidental — they are who they are and what they areimposing on the world. We refuse to live with fascism. Trump must go now,” said Emma Kaplan, a lead organizer with Refuse Fascism-NYC.
