The Trump Fascist Regime Must Go Now!
RefuseFascism.org was first initiated on an emergency basis in the wake of the election of Donald Trump in 2016. Recognizing the fascist character and danger of the looming Trump/Pence Regime, we issued a “Call to Action” to mobilize people to resist.
We led protests of thousands.
We published statements in major newspapers that were signed by prominent voices of conscience and thousands of others.
We started a podcast that engaged with scholars and activists on what fascism is, how it is developing, and how it must be defeated by stepping outside of the normal channels of elections, the courts, or protest-as-usual.
And weeks before the January 6 riots, we mobilized against Trump’s rolling coup as he tried to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
Though the kind of mass movement we called for – large, determined, and powerful enough to drive out Trump/MAGA fascism – did not develop, our analysis that Trump represented a leap in fascism has been borne out to be true – with the danger and stakes for humanity now exponentially greater, and the urgency of stopping Trump/MAGA fascism confronting the millions of people in this country who do not want to live in a fascist America.

Millions in the streets not allowing business as usual when that business is cementing fascist rule with the vilest degrading morality down our throats. MANY VOICES AND BODIES DEMANDING: THE TRUMP FASCIST REGIME MUST GO NOW! With this we can and must create a political crisis in which the Trump regime cannot govern and implement their fascist program or even maintain their hold on power.
A core principle behind all Refuse Fascism events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events.

Fascism is a qualitative change in how society is governed. Fascism foments and relies on xenophobic nationalism, racism, misogyny, and the aggressive re-institution of oppressive “traditional values.” Fascist mobs and threats of violence are unleashed to build the movement and consolidate power. What is crucial to understand is that once in power fascism essentially eliminates traditional democratic rights. History has shown that fascism must be stopped before it becomes too late.
