Wake Up And Act! … Before It Becomes Too Late
Norman Ornstein, resident scholor at the American Enterprise Institute is no radical or even liberal. He is very right-wing conservative.
After Attorney General William Barr’s recent interview on Dec. 10, Ornstein tweeted this warning:
“The Barr interview today is even more frightening than many Americans imagine. It seems clear that he will do or enable anything to keep Trump in office. And Trump will do anything to stay there. Suspension of the election, negation of the results, declaration of martial law are not simply fanciful, alarmist or crazy things to throw out there or to contemplate. (our emphasis) Members of Congress, governors and state legislators, leaders in civil society, lawyers, law enforcement figures and the military need to be thinking now about how they might respond.”
Everyone should read this and think hard about what Ornstein is warning in this tweet.
Then decide if are you going to join with and help bring into the streets the millions of people who hate and rightly fear what is looming in non-violent protest that doesn’t stop until our single simple demand is met:
Trump/Pence #OUTNOW!
Or will you stand aside and become complicit in the consolidation of fascism in America? Those are the only two choices. There is no middle ground.
Notice that Ornstein, coming from his perspective, is calling on “Members of Congress, governors and state legislators, leaders in civil society, lawyers, law enforcement figures and the military”…anything but the people to address this looming horror.
Yet as we have argued repeatedly, there is no scenario that will remove this fascist regime without the tens of millions of us – the people – getting and staying in the streets to create the kind of political crisis that could result in these forces Ornstein mentions deciding that the time has come for Trump/Pence to be removed.
