Thousands of people gathered outside the Phoenix Convention Center to protest Donald Trump’s rally were tear gassed by Phoenix police. News reports said that police helicopters circled the protest while heavily armed police roamed the streets, telling protesters they would be arrested for being at an “unlawful assembly”.
A 19 year old protester told a reporter that demonstrators had gathered peacefully for hours when “police started throwing tear gas and pepper-spray pellets and flash bombs to basically make us run away.”
Trump has been striving to energize his fascist social base as a key element of solidifying his fascist regime, and remake society how society is governed. It is very positive that he is greeted by determined, and courageous protests wherever he goes – these need to grow and become much more powerful and influential. Even more, they need to contribute to wrenching the fight
to oppose the Trump/Pence regime to an entirely new level. As the call for November 4 said, “Spread the word and organize now. Be a part of making history. Don’t let it be said that you stood aside when there was still a chance to stop a regime that imperils humanity and the Earth itself. Join in taking to the streets and the public squares day after day and night after night demonstrating that In the Name of Humanity, We REFUSE to Accept a Fascist America.”
