Today, the Supreme Court is having a private conference to consider a petition from the notorious Christian fascist county clerk Kim Davis to overrule Obergefell v. Hodges (2015). Refuse Fascism and other organizations will protest in front of the Supreme Court at 9 am to demand, “Marriage Equality Stays. Trump Must Go Now.”
This is the same Supreme court that ruled just yesterday that Trump should have the right to revoke passports of people whose gender identities don’t match their birth certificates – a blatant attack on trans and non-binary people.
“The Supreme Court is completely illegitimate. It is now working hand and glove with the Trump regime to trample on the hard-won rights of oppressed people. They did the same thing to women just two and a half years ago when they overturned Roe v. Wade,” says Sunsara Taylor of Refuse Fascism. “The lesson from the Dobbs decision was that the people have to be in the streets unrelentingly to prevent them from overturning Obergefell, and we must right now grow into a movement of millions to flood DC and nonviolently drive out the Trump Fascist Regime, before we lose all of our rights.”
