On Monday, November 24, protesters will lock hands around the perimeter of the White House in a powerful, nonviolent show of mass resistance to the fascist Trump regime.
This action—Surround the White House 1.0 (Part 3)—is the third in a series of protests outside the White House demanding the immediate removal of Donald Trump. The first two actions, on November 15 and November 17, wrapped the White House perimeter in crime scene tape, symbolizing the criminality and danger of a regime that has shredded democratic and civil rights, trampled the rule of law, and unleashed violence and repression on millions.
Monday’s action comes amid a stark and urgent split-screen moment for the country:
On Thursday, November 20, Trump posted that six Democratic lawmakers should be hanged for urging the military to reject unlawful orders and uphold their oath to the Constitution and the rule of law — a blatant escalation of fascist threats and open calls for political violence. The regime is on a tear to remake the military into a fascist fighting machine that will readily commit war crimes – whether it’s bombing boats in the Caribbean or attacking protesters in US cities.
On Saturday, November 22, thousands from across the country filled the National Mall to demand the removal of the Trump regime.
Organizers from Refuse Fascism say, “This is a decisive moment. A fascist regime that calls for political opponents to be executed is not waiting to consolidate power — it is doing so now. But thousands have converged nonviolently on Washington DC in the month of November to demand Trump Must Go, and this quickly needs to become millions who keep coming back into DC for “surround the regime” 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 – as many times as it takes until the fall of the Trump fascist regime.”
