Andy Zee, a leader of RefuseFascism.org said, “Every day, Trump takes another step—another leap—towards bolting fascism into place. Last Friday, ICE arrested Ras Baraka, the mayor of Newark, NJ, as he asked to carry out a legal inspection of an immigration jail in his city. On Sunday, Trump said that he ‘didn’t know’ if the Constitution guarantees due process for individuals accused of crimes—“due process”(!) which is the very bedrock of the rule of law, and the Constitution! Then on Thursday the Supreme Court seriously debated whether federal courts could prevent Trump from using a presidential order to abolish the constitutionally guaranteed right to Birthright Citizenship.”
Organizers are building the movement into the summer, saying “This country is being rapidly remade into a fascist country. It is up to all of us—including YOU—to stop it. And it can be done…there are tens of millions of decent people in this country who deeply, deeply oppose this fascism and could be mobilized to stop it. Millions in the streets, day after day and night after night, demanding ‘TRUMP MUST GO NOW!’ This could combine with real divisions within the ruling institutions of society to actually force Trump out. This kind of thing has happened elsewhere—and it not only can, it MUST happen here.”
