UPDATE: Facebook backs off censoring ad for Nov 16 Trump/Pence #OUTNOW! protests

Early this morning Facebook rescinded its censorship of ads for nationwide protests on Saturday demanding Trump/Pence #OUTNOW! (See Nov 14 release below.) Yet this remains an outrageous story of political suppression – all the more so because of Facebook’s embrace of Trump and the fascist movement he leads — that demands media coverage.

This morning RefuseFascism.org released a new video exposing Facebook and announced: “After CENSORING our ad for 3 days [leading into Saturday’s protests] …after multiple re-submits & appeals… & the press contacted them… Facebook just approved our ad! Thanks to everyone who shared the video. Keep sharing! And be there tomorrow! Trump/Pence #OutNow!”

“As impeachment unfolds, it is more urgent than ever for people to take to the streets to demand Trump/Pence #OUTNOW! But Facebook CENSORED our ad!”

Facebook Censors RefuseFascism.org Ad for Nov 16 Protests Demanding Trump/Pence #OUTNOW!

Claims Ad: “uses profanity, implied profanity, or insulting language”

“Meanwhile, Facebook allows fascist Trump ads full of blatant lies,” says RefuseFascism.org

This week RefuseFascism.org attempted to purchase and run a video ad on Facebook promoting nationwide, non-violent, mass protests this Saturday November 16 demanding Trump/Pence #OUTNOW! (Go HERE for Locations Nationwide)

Facebook rejected this ad and RefuseFascism.org’s appeal, saying: “This ad isn’t running because it uses profanity, implied profanity, or insulting language.”

“The only obscenity here is Facebook’s censorship,” says Rafael Kadaris of RefuseFascism.org. “They allow fascist ads from the Trump campaign which blatantly lie, but suppress an ad calling for mass political protests demanding “Trump/Pence Out Now!”? Everyone should watch this video and share it everywhere. And most importantly, be in the streets this Saturday.”
